With 30+ years of civil contracting success, they’ve built a business known for innovation, inclusivity, and developing people—an environment where good estimators become great, and great estimators are trusted to lead.

Why you’ll want to be here

  • Supportive environment: Mentorship-driven, team-first approach to winning work

The role

As the Civil Estimator, you’ll work closely with the Lead Estimator and an established team to secure medium-to-major civil works across Queensland. You’ll produce competitive, accurate tenders and contribute directly to bid strategy, methodology, and commercial positioning.

What you’ll be doing

  • Prepare first-principles tender estimates with strong cost detail and commercial accuracy
  • Develop construction methodologies to support tender submissions and delivery planning
  • Engage and manage subcontractor/supplier pricing, improving value and sharpening competitiveness
  • Support/lead tender presentations and contribute through interim and final review gates
  • Provide technical input on construction sequencing, traffic staging, and programming criteria
  • Manage procurement planning for materials, subcontractors, and plant aligned to scope and program
  • Identify, quantify, and document project risks and opportunities to support tender strategy and decision-making
  • Contribute to pre- and post-tender reviews, lessons learned, and ongoing estimating improvements

What we’re looking for

Experience & background

  • 2–5+ years contractor-side civil estimating experience (public infrastructure preferred)
  • TMR / Main Roads exposure highly regarded
  • Demonstrated site-based project delivery experience with practical knowledge of how infrastructure is built, including sequencing, constraints, and risk nuances
  • Strong exposure to roadworks, bulk earthworks, bridges and/or concrete structures

Technical capability

  • Solid grasp of first-principles estimating across civil construction scopes including:
road construction, bulk earthworks, subdivisions, services, drainage, water infrastructure, concrete works, pavements, and bridges
  • Experience using (or exposure to) Expert Estimation Genesis

Stakeholder & commercial strengths

  • Confident communicator able to present estimates to senior stakeholders through structured review processes
  • Commercially astute—able to balance risk, opportunity, and competitiveness to strengthen bid outcomes
