Our client, a well-respected civil engineering contractor based in Brisbane, is searching for a Civil Project Engineer with 3+ years of experience in road projects. Your Role: As a Civil Project Engineer specialising in Roads & Bridges, reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following key areas:
- Planning & Programming:
- Develop detailed project plans and schedules to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Coordinate with the project team to allocate resources efficiently and adjust plans as needed to address any issues or changes.
- Thoroughly review and understand all contract documents, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Identify and address any discrepancies or issues within the contract documents.
- Track project expenditures and monitor costs against the approved budget.
- Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to the Project Manager, highlighting any potential cost overruns or savings.
- Supervise and manage the engineering team and site staff, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to team members as needed.
- Oversee the performance of subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors to address issues and ensure smooth project execution.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 3-6 years in road projects. Bonus points if you know TMR / Council road specs.
- Skills: You’re a project coordination pro with a knack for budget control and stakeholder coordination.
- Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
