Civil Estimator | PE / SPE Pathway into Pre-Contracts
Brisbane | $150K–$185K base + super + vehicle allowance
Training and mentoring provided

Are you a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer who understands how civil projects are actually built, but you’re ready for a new direction?

This is a genuine pathway into estimating, pre-contracts and bid strategy with a respected Queensland civil contractor. You’ll stay close to construction, methodology and major project work — without being stuck in the constant pressure of day-to-day site delivery.

You don’t need to be a finished estimator. If you understand staging, sequencing, productivity, risk, subcontractors, procurement and how work gets delivered on site, you’ll have a strong foundation to build from.

The role

Working with the Lead Estimator and pre-contracts team, you’ll help prepare tenders for civil infrastructure projects across Queensland.

You’ll be involved in first-principles estimating, construction methodologies, subcontractor and supplier pricing, procurement planning, risk reviews and tender strategy.

Your site experience will be valued, particularly when assessing constructability, staging, temporary works, traffic management, sequencing, productivity and delivery constraints.

What we’re looking for

• PE or SPE background with civil contractor experience
• Strong site delivery experience across public infrastructure or major civil works
• Exposure to TMR / Main Roads projects highly regarded
• Experience across roadworks, earthworks, drainage, pavements, structures, subdivisions or water infrastructure
• Ability to read drawings, interpret specs and identify risks or scope gaps
• Commercial awareness and strong attention to detail
• Genuine interest in building a long-term career in estimating and pre-contracts
• Willingness to learn Expert Estimation Genesis
