Civil Project Engineer – Project Planning & Risk Management

Are you ready to significantly impact a groundbreaking project in Queensland? A leading and established civil contractor in Brisbane, recognized for excellence in delivering innovative and sustainable civil engineering solutions, is expanding its team for a major new project. We invite skilled civil project engineers to join us in shaping the future.

Your Role:

As a vital member of this dynamic team, you'll bring your project planning and risk management expertise to prepare for a major initiative. Initially based in our Brisbane head office for 18 months, you'll manage risk across financial, contractual, operational, safety, and environmental aspects. Transitioning to the site in early 2026, you'll work on a 10/4 roster, overseeing the construction phase.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Initial Planning: Collaborate on programming, procurement, and project planning from the office.
  • Schedule Management: Oversee and update the project timeline.
  • Resource Allocation: Assist in managing the use of materials, resources, and systems.
  • Project Monitoring: Track and report on project tasks to ensure profitability and cost control.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide daily technical support to meet contract and tender requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify, control, and report significant risks and opportunities.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure all work meets the project's environmental standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in civil engineering projects, particularly large concrete structures, earthworks, embankments, drainage, and water services
  • Strong project management skills, overseeing the entire project life cycle
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to safety and quality assurance

Senior Estimator | Structural, Mechanical and Piping

  • $170-190K base + super
  • Major infrastructure projects across Power, Rail, Mining, Resources, Energy, Water, Utilities and Transportation

As the Estimator, you will develop cost estimates and programs for our major projects team with access to projects across Australia. To excel in this role, you will need a demonstrated background as an Estimator, specialising in Structural, Mechanical, and Piping. Ideally, Having a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying would be best. Experience in the Construction, Infrastructure, or Utilities sector and clear and concise communication skills are desirable. Knowledge of Expert Estimation and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, are also preferred.

  • Developing cost estimates and programs for the various projects
  • Generating the reports required to present to clients.
  • Liaise with management at all levels of the business (client side), managing their expectations for project delivery, escalating project issues, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership as appropriate.
  • Assist in preparing documentation related to the program, project delivery and any related phasing diagrams for clients.
  • Ongoing client liaison and business development.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience (Quantity Surveying).
  • Demonstrated experience in the Construction, Infrastructure or Utilities sector.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Experience with Expert Estimation (preferred).
