Your Role: As the Area Manager – Substations, you'll be pivotal in overseeing the design, construction, and commissioning of substations within designated regional areas. Reporting to the Project Construction Director, you'll lead a dynamic team of engineers, designers, and construction advisors to ensure projects are executed with the highest safety and efficiency standards. When construction begins, the project will transition from office-based (Pre-construction, approvals) to site-based. Depending on the package assigned, you will work on a roster and be expected to be on-site during these periods. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor your team, setting performance expectations and strategies to achieve project objectives.
  • Manage substations' design, construction, and commissioning, developing and executing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment with project goals.
  • Champion a culture of safety excellence, adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to construction engineering teams, ensuring high-quality substation designs and solutions are achieved.
  • Allocate resources effectively to optimise project performance outcomes.
  • Manage changes in project scope and develop risk mitigation strategies as needed.


    • Degree-level qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction.
    • Experience in managing civil infrastructure works related to HV infrastructure delivery, preferably up to 500kV.
    • Leadership qualifications or previous experience in leading others in a senior capacity.
    • Strong project management skills with experience in the energy, infrastructure, or transmission sectors.
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in project management tools, engineering software, and industry standards.
    • Strong understanding of substation design principles, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
    • The project will transition from office-based (Pre-construction, approvals) to site-based when construction begins. Depending on the package assigned to you will work on a roster and will be expected to be on-site during these periods.
    • Extensive Expertise in Planning and Overseeing High Voltage Construction Projects for Substations and Transmission Lines.
    • Proven Ability to Thrive in Remote Regional Locations, Embracing Camp-Style Accommodations and Extended Site Rosters.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading large construction teams, navigating industrial relations, and Managing Stakeholders Effectively.

Senior Estimator | Structural, Mechanical and Piping

  • $170-190K base + super

As the Estimator, you will develop cost estimates and programs for our major projects team with access to projects across Australia. To excel in this role, you will need a demonstrated background as an Estimator, specialising in Structural, Mechanical, and Piping. Ideally, Having a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying would be best. Experience in the Construction, Infrastructure, or Utilities sector and clear and concise communication skills are desirable. Knowledge of Expert Estimation and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, are also preferred.

  • Assist in preparing documentation related to the program, project delivery and any related phasing diagrams for clients.
  • Ongoing client liaison and business development.


  • Degree or Diploma qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience (Quantity Surveying).
  • Demonstrated experience in the Construction, Infrastructure or Utilities sector.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Experience with Expert Estimation (preferred).
