The role

You’ll take ownership of civil construction projects from mobilisation through to completion, managing the people, program, commercial position and client relationship along the way.

• Overseeing subcontractors, suppliers, resources, staging and construction methodology
• Driving forecasting, reporting, cost control and project performance
• Identifying risk early and making sound commercial and operational decisions

• Maintaining strong safety, quality and environmental standards throughout delivery

What they’re looking for

You’ll ideally bring 8+ years of civil construction or infrastructure experience, with exposure to areas such as roads, rail, bridges, subdivisions, water or local government works.

A Civil Engineering degree is preferred, although practical experience and a proven delivery record will carry significant weight.

As Project Engineer, you’ll have genuine ownership across both the technical and commercial side of project delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Project Manager with overall project delivery, programming and commercial performance
• Developing and monitoring short-term construction programs and look-aheads
• Coordinating Supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and site resources
• Managing RFIs, ITPs, lot records, hold points, QA documentation and technical submissions
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and TMR / Council requirements
• Assisting with construction methodologies, sequencing and temporary works planning
• Monitoring quantities, productivity, labour and plant performance
• Tracking project costs, forecasts and cost-to-complete
• Assisting with procurement, subcontract packages and supplier negotiations
• Managing variations, delays, contractual notices and supporting commercial claims
• Reviewing subcontractor progress claims and performance
• Identifying project risks and commercial opportunities early
• Coordinating client, consultant and stakeholder requirements
• Supporting monthly reporting, forecasting and project financial reviews
• Driving safety, quality and environmental compliance across your work areas
